Juice For Fasting – Best Foods To Eat Following A Juice Fast

Breaking any kind of fast — a juice fast, an intermittent-fasting window, or a daily Ramadan fast — works best when you don't jump straight to a heavy meal. The gut has had a break; give it something easy first.

Dates are the traditional opener at iftar for a simple reason: they're solid food that doesn't need chewing through fibre-heavy vegetables or fatty protein first. A few pieces, plain or with a glass of water, restart digestion gently before the main meal arrives.

After that, soup or a light broth is a good second step. Warm liquid is easier on a stomach that's been empty for hours than cold or heavily spiced food. Save fried items, rich curries and anything very sugary for later in the meal, once the body has had fifteen to twenty minutes to adjust.

Hydration matters as much as food. A juice fast in particular can leave you short on fibre and protein even if calorie intake looked fine on paper, so the first solid meal afterward should lean on whole foods — rice, grains, vegetables, a protein source — rather than more juice.

If you're stocking up for Ramadan or planning a fast of your own, our dates are sold by grade, so you can pick what suits daily iftar versus what you'd keep for guests. Bulk order questions go through our Contact Us page; sourcing details are on About Us.
